THE BLUEBLACK HUSSAR: THE LONG AWAITED ADAM ANT DOCUMENTARY
After a sell-out preview screening at London's Riverside Studios cinema in June 2013, The Blueblack Hussar will opened in cinemas across the UK through September/October 2013.
In the 1980s the iconic pop star, Adam Ant, was at the height of his fame, easily recognised by the white stripe painted across his face and his striking imagery of Prince Charming and the Dandy Highwayman. Twenty years later, after a mental breakdown, he was locked up and forcibly sedated, putting him in a state of artistic oblivion. Jack Bond’s film, The Blueblack Hussar, follows him on his first tour for 15 years as he plays small London clubs, culminating in a performance before 55,000 at Hyde Park. The film features the actress Charlotte Rampling who inspired his first album Dirk Wears White Sox, the producer Mark Ronson and the artist who was his mentor, Allen Jones.
